REGISTRATION was more than just “signing in.” It included time for mingling and learning more about
• Llanfair Retirement Community
• Presbyterian Action Against the Death Penalty.

EDUCATION was provided by Elder Mel Hensey (management consulting engineer). His discussion about vision, mission, goals, and strategies focused on three easy ways for individuals to develop leadership skills: 1) identify three trusted friends to provide feedback, 2) engage the services of a coach, and 3) model your behavior and mannerisms after someone whose leadership abilities you admire.

FELLOWSHIP occurred throughout the evening especially during the sharing of a light meal and dessert.

WORSHIP included a sermon in which the apostle Paul, portrayed by the Rev. Kathy Barlow Westmoreland (pastor, St. John’s Westminster), brought “Comfort and Hope for All.” The presbytery celebrated the Lord’s Supper and gave thanks for the lives of ruling elders whose earthly lives ended during the past year. The offering was collected to benefit hunger ministries designated by Northminster and Dry Ridge churches.

ACTIONS taken by the presbytery, or committees on behalf of the presbytery, included among others:
Authorizing several presbytery groups to celebrate the Lord’s Supper during 2012,
Approving invitations for temporary pastoral service:
The Rev. Deborah Uchtman (stated supply, Bethel Murdoch)
The Rev. David Good (interim pastor, Calvin),
Dismissing the Rev. J. Lance Jones (member-at-large) to the Presbytery of Arkansas,
Designating the Rev. Susan Duker (member-at-large) as honorably retired,
Electing Elder Clay Daniel (Sycamore) to chair the presbytery’s personnel committee,
