LEARNED about the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon from its development director and PC(USA) mission co-worker Carol Dolezal-Ng.

PRESENTED a $6,000 grant from the Presbyterian Hunger Program to the Cincinnati Contact Center for its Empowerment Project.

LEARNED about different ways that Outdoor Ministry and Christian Education scholarships were used during the last year, including a Vacation Bible School conducted by Third and Ft. Thomas First churches and an event for adolescent girls held by Bethel Murdoch, Grace Community and Loveland churches.

HEARD a recap of Ben Darby’s service as a Young Adult Volunteer and plans for Rachel Hosmer (Northminster) to serve as a YAV in Denver.

HEARD about the Christian Community Development Association conference to be held in Cincinnati,  October 21-25.

DISMISSED commissions that installed Bobbie Bella (pastor, Pleasant Run), Cheryl Edmonds (pastor, Grace Community), Edward Goode (pastor, Wyoming), Shirley Hutchins (associate pastor, Sycamore).

ELECTED members to committees and Bill Brown (elder, Kennedy Heights) as Moderator beginning at the September presbytery meeting.

GRANTED permission for Westwood First Church to lease space to The Shepherd’s Heart Christian Fellowship Ministry.

APPROVED amendments to the Book of Order:
08-D:  General Assembly Council name change
08-F:  membership of Certified Educators
08-G:  synod membership
08-H;  [when to take] ordination examinations
08-I:  Certified Christian Educators

APPROVED Thomas van Milligen (Christian Reformed Church) as temporary supply, Church By The Woods.

GRANTED permission for Mark Wright to accept a call from General Assembly Council to serve as a mission co-worker in Honduras.

APPROVED the commissioning of Charles Poston (elder, Providence) as Commissioned Lay Pastor at Cleves Church.

ELECTED ordination examination readers Vicki Abend (elder, Mt. Washington), Denise Pass (associate pastor, Crestview), Terry Webster (pastor, Ft. Thomas First) and alternate Gordon Jewett (HR).

RECEIVED copies of the presbytery’s 2008 Annual Report.

APPROVED mission priorities for 2010:  local mission, congregational transitions, leadership development and nurture of church professionals.

SHARED food and fellowship

WORSHIPED.  Carol Dolezal-Ng preached on the Parable of the Sower.

HEARD insights about becoming a missional presbytery from Clark Cowden (executive presbyter, Presbytery of San Diego).

EXAMINED and approved Tyler Pettigrew (Crestview) as a candidate for the ministry of the Word and Sacrament.

EXAMINED and approved Jim Goff (Presbytery of Greater Atlanta) for ordination to the ministry of the Word and Sacrament and
