Harrison (Sycamore), and Susan Ingmire (Mt. Auburn);
ministers Cinda Gorman (co-pastor, Westwood First), and
Maurice Mitchell (pastor, Hillsboro First).
LEARNED about “link2lead.com”
resources from the Percept Group. Bob Clary (HR), a
member of the presbytery presented the information and
is available to assist churches who wish to use it.
During the meeting…
ELECTED committee members and chairpersons:
Ecclesiastical Affairs – Jim Steiner (interim pastor,
Calvin); Ministry – L.P. Jones (pastor, Mt. Washington)
and Rhonda O’Reilly (member at-large); Nominating – Mary
Ann Jacobs (St. John’s Westminster); Personnel – Daniel
Watson (member at-large); Preparation for Ministry –
Kathy Barlow Westmoreland (pastor, St. John’s
Westminster).
LEARNED about the services,
resources and programs of Llanfair Retirement Community
from Executive Director Sheena Parton. She encouraged
congregations to partner with Llanfair.
MET Ben Darby, who will be working
this year with St. John’s Westminster as part of General
Assembly’s Young Adult Volunteer program. He is a
graduate of Hanover College and a member of Harvey Brown
Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
WORSHIPED. The service included the
installation of Moderator Tom York (pastor, Knox) and
Vice Moderator Bill Brown (elder, Kennedy Heights).
SHARED an extended period of
fellowship and refreshment.
EXAMINED and approved individuals in
different phases of becoming Presbyterian ministers.

Michelle McSwain Bacon (Glendale
First) was approved for ordination. The session of
Heritage Church has called her to serve as interim
associate pastor.

Lydia Balmos Casey (Mt.
Washington) became a candidate. She is a student at
Princeton Theological Seminary.

Abby King Kaiser (Northminster)
became a candidate. She is a student at Pacific
School of Religions

The presbytery recognized the
ordination of Chip Hall (stated supply, Winton Hills
Community) by the American Baptist Church and
enrolled him as a minister of Word and Sacrament in
the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

AUTHORIZED elders Reggie Roberts and
Rodney Christian to preside at the Lord’s Supper at
Third Church.
APPROVED the 2009 minimum terms of
call for ministers and commissioned lay pastors.
HEARD about the work of the
Committee on Representation and its emphasis on COR
values.
RECEIVED the schedule for the
presbytery’s considering proposed amendments to the
PCUSA constitution and of ecumenical statements.
GRANTED permission for Crestview
Church to refinance its existing mortgage and for Venice
Church to purchase property.
TOOK a first look at the preliminary
budget for 2009.
COMPLETED a survey about the
presbytery’s name.
LEARNED that Council is forming a
“Vital Church Vision Mission Team.”
APPROVED new By-laws.
DISMISSED commissions that ordained
and installed Nathan Wright (associate pastor,
Covenant-First) and ordained Robert Lippert (former
member, College Hill) as ministers of the Word and
Sacrament.
CHANGED the name of Sharonville
Presbyterian Church to Church by the Woods (PCUSA).
DISSOLVED the Salem and White Oak
churches for the purpose of merging them into Northwest
Community Church, Salem White Oak Presbyterian.
POSTPONED until November the
discussion of a proposed resolution from Mt. Auburn
regarding the death penalty in Ohio.
