     A retired Presbyterian minister, Ruth holds a D.Min. in pastoral care and counseling.  As a former campus minister in an ecumenical setting, she has provided leadership training for many groups who needed to develop good listening skills (e.g., peer ministries, staff volunteers for a drug crisis and helping center). An avid reader with interests in process and feminist theologies, she meets twice a year with a group of intellectual and academic Presbyterians for discussion, Bible study, worship and more. A graduate of the University of Michigan and Princeton Theological Seminary, she is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a licensed nursing home administrator, a licensed health facility administrator, and a licensed social worker. Her professional experiences have included managing a retirement community, pastoring in two large congregations, serving as a hospital chaplain and hospice chaplain, operating three nursing homes, and directing a home health agency based hospice.      Kimberly holds membership in the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. SPECIALTIES:  Art, film & theology; workshops on children and television, non-violence, and host of other topics.  Author of 12 books, his most recent is Faith & Film (Westminster/John Knox Press). It combines a theological exploration of film with discussion guides for 27 films that challenge the mind and soul.
     Ed has retired from a 38-year career in the parish ministry in order to have more time to write and lead seminars.  He has served small and large churches.  His writing began in the early 1970's, growing out of his work with children and youth.  He founded the monthly journal Visual Parables to help educators and pastors use good films in their ministry.  He has presented film seminars related to the theme of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Conference.  He has taught at elder hostels, seminaries, colleges, churches and camps from Massachusetts to California, including Ghost Ranch and Montreat.  He has also worked in television and radio, producing programs and writing "spots" that have been used around the country. He has worked with Hollywood film director/producer Michael Rhodes (Christy & Romero) to produce a cassette series of film clips for church and school use. Many of his film guides can be seen at the Presbyterians Today website and in "Popular Culture" at The Thoughtful Christian site. His two current Westminster/John Knox Press books are Praying the Movies I & Praying the Movies II. A sample issue of Visual Parables can be seen at www.visualparables.net. Visual Parables is now a subscription service available only on the web that features reviews, guides and Christian ed. materials related to film and the Scriptures.
