One of today’s most innovative piano duos,
Richard Steinbach and Howard Helvey have
dazzled audiences across the U.S. and abroad
since 1997. Equally impressive at one piano
or two, these engaging artists bring
veracity and new life to a wide stylistic
palette – from early 4-hand music by Bach
and Mozart, to new works by Howard Helvey.
The duo opens our 30th anniversary season
with works by Mozart, Schubert, Brahms,
Britten, Poulenc, Langlais, Zimmerli and
Helvey. |

Westwood First’s magnificent pipe organ has
been a mainstay of the concert series
throughout its thirty-year history. Join us
for this unique concert as Westwood First
organist Heather MacPhail shows off the
versatility of the instrument and is joined
by some of her musical colleagues who will
blend their brass and reed tones with the
colors of our pipe organ. In addition to
solo organ, you will hear organ plus trumpet
(Douglas Lindsay), oboe (Julie Fuqua) and
saxophone (Jeremy Long). |

MAY FESTIVAL CHAMBER CHOIR

The world renowned May Festival Chorus has
been the core artistic element of the May
Festival since 1880. The May Festival
Chamber Choir is a smaller group of singers
who perform concerts throughout Greater
Cincinnati. Acclaimed conductor Robert Porco
will lead the Chamber Choir in a cappella
works as well as works accompanied on piano
and organ by Heather MacPhail, assistant to
the director and accompanist. Featured will
be Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. |

MIAMI UNIVERSITY JAZZ ENSEMBLE

The 20-member Miami University Jazz Ensemble
will turn up the heat on this first Sunday
of spring. Under the direction of Dr. Jeremy
Long, the MUJE is Miami’s premiere big band,
playing a wide range of styles from big band
swing to contemporary jazz and focusing on
the enduring music made famous by the Stan
Kenton, Woody Herman and Count Basie
orchestras. Perhaps the MUJE will honor our
30th/Pearl Anniversary Season with a
rendition of “A String of Pearls.” |

With Cincinnati’s hosting of the World Choir
Games just around the corner, the Westwood
First Chancel Choir and soloists pave the
way with A Salute to America and Her Music.
Under the direction of Heather MacPhail, the
choir and soloists
will perform all-American music of various
styles and periods – from patriotic songs to
spirituals, from the Civil War to the
present. Join us for a rousing and inspiring
