CELEBRATED the ministry of the Rev. John Muntz, who retired in January.  He most recently served as interim pastor, Mt. Washington Church.     

HEARD reflections on sense of call from Youth Adult Volunteers Eleanor Held and Mary Blacklock.

AUTHORIZED the Board of Trustees to give final approval of the sale of church property of the dissolved Delhi First congregation and of Springdale Church in cooperation with its session.

ELECTED the Rev. L.P. Jones (pastor, Mt. Washington) to the Committee on Ministry and the Rev. Susan Quinn Bryan (pastor, Mt. Auburn) to the Nominating Committee.

THANKED people who are leaving the presbytery for their service as committee chairs.  Karl Zinsmeister (Theology & Worship; Music Director, Mt. Washington) has accepted a call in Raleigh, NC.  The Rev. Frank Wyche (former Committee on Ministry chair) has accepted a call near Staunton, VA.  The Rev. Tom Brackbill (co-chair, Committee on Ministry) is being called to Alma, MI.

APPROVED changes in calls:
The Rev. Pete Reed to stated supply, Cleves
The Rev. James Bernard from pastor, Calvin, to honorable retirement

COMMISSIONED lay pastors:
Elder Barbara Jean Havens as Coordinator, Eastern Area Council of Churches
Elder Lewis Wittman to service at Calvary Church

ELECTED ordination examination readers Elder Janis Alling Adams (Mt. Auburn), the Rev. Kris Moore (pastor, Cranston Memorial), the Rev. Kathryn Barlow Westmoreland (pastor, St. John’s Westminster) and alternate reader the Rev. Rhonda O’Reilly (at-large)

AFFIRMED the Collaborative Agreement between the City of Cincinnati, its citizens and police.

RECEIVED information about the 2008 preliminary budget.  The three areas being emphasized are urban ministry, pastoral care/spiritual development of church professionals, and building healthier congregations.

WORSHIPPED using the theme “Peace in Community.”  The Rev. Clarence Wallace (pastor, Carmel) preached and challenged the presbytery to care for the poor among us.

APPROVED motions concerning the presbytery’s transformation:  authorizing the appointment of additional members to the Transformation Team, requesting the Nominating Committee to focus on filling committees/groups mandated by the Book of Order and those which deal with administrative functions of the presbytery; changing presbytery meeting patterns; and forming a group to consider renaming the presbytery.

RECEIVED a report from the Examinations Guidelines Task Force.  The presbytery will consider adopting its recommendations in September.

DISMISSED administrative commissions that ordained and installed the Rev. James Crank (designated pastor, Dayton First), installed the Rev. Drew Smith (pastor, College Hill), and installed the Rev. L. P. Jones (pastor, Mt. Washington).

AUTHORIZED the celebration of the Lord’s Supper during 2007 by Presbyterian Youth Council & Presbytery Youth Connection, Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery, Presbytery mission trip teams and SIFT – Searching in Faith Together.
