ATTENDED a pre-meeting explanation
about establishing and funding presbytery networks and
congregation partnerships.
WORSHIPED by celebrating the Lord’s
Supper and reflecting on one of the Strategic Directions
adopted by the Presbytery: Building Trust. We also
gave thanks for the work of the committees that no
longer exist under the presbytery’s new structure.
SHARED an extended period of
fellowship and refreshment.
DISMISSED the administrative
commission that ordained Keith Jones (Richwood) as a
minister of the Word and Sacrament and the
administrative commission that worked with Pleasant
Ridge Church.
APPROVED an overture to General
Assembly that asks that Korean Presbyterian Church be
transferred to the Presbytery of Midwest Hanmi.
APPROVED an overture to General
Assembly that asks that the current text of G-6.0106b be
deleted from the Book of Order and replaced with
new language and that interpretive statements concerning
ordained service of homosexual Church members by the 190th
General Assembly (1978) of the United Presbyterian
Church in the United States of America, and the 119th
General Assembly (1979) of the Presbyterian Church in
the United States and all subsequent affirmations
thereof, have no further force or effect.
REMOVED a stipulation from the 2008
Budget so that money designated for ministry at West
Cincinnati Church will be available for use.
AUTHORIZED the Moderator to appoint
administrative commissions that ordain and/or install
ministers of the Word and Sacrament and authorized the
celebration of the Lord’s Supper at ordinations and/or
installations when a request is submitted to the
Moderator.
APPROVED the sale of pieces of
property by Sycamore Church to the Ohio Department of
Transportation for road widening.
GRANTED permission for Pleasant Run
Church to refinance a loan at a lower rate.
ELECTED members to Presbytery
Council and committees.
LEARNED that Stacey Schwenker
(Crestview) has been enrolled as an inquirer to explore
her call to the ministry of the Word and Sacrament and
that Michelle Bacon (Glendale First) has been certified
ready to receive a call as a minister of the Word and
Sacrament.
APPROVED new and changes in pastoral
relationships:
David Bucey (UCC) to interim pastor, Providence
Susan Duker from interim pastor, Mt. Washington to at-large
Stephen Eyre to parish associate, Northminster
Jean Frable to honorable retired
Robert League from pastor, Mowrystown to at-large
Bill Owens to interim pastor, Richwood.
