Administrative Support – Communication and Worship
College Hill Presbyterian Church
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:This is a multifaceted support role that includes functions relating to Communications, Worship, and IT.

EDUCATION: High school or GED minimum education, Some college in Communications, Worship, IT or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE: 2+ years experience in administrative support or related experience
Proficiency with Microsoft word suite required
Proficiency with Adobe Suite, InDesign, and other Design/publishing software as well as experience is maintaining computer systems and websites is preferred.

GENERAL INFORMATION & CHARACTERISTICS:
• The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, efficient multi-tasker, who has good time management skills is a highly effective communicator and is good at meeting deadlines
• Interacts with AP Worship in weekly service planning
• Coordinates recruitment and scheduling of ministry partners to run Sunday slides and to contribute content for “Hot Off the Press”

• Prints music each week and creates rehearsal and leader packets for choir and Kaleidoscope band and leaders (as needed)
• Maintains a data base of music used each week

• Prepares weekly worship and leader guides, including for special services: Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday
• Works with pastors to produce bulletin and secure musicians for funerals.
• Produces slides for Sunday morning and atrium monitors
• Mutual aid/support with Hospitality and Scheduling Support staff member
• Prints, updates, and maintains posters; maintain bulletin boards and literature racks on campus
• Produces weekly E-nnouncements and updates message for Hamilton Avenue marquee
• Maintains CHPC website - regular maintenance and weekly updates
• Makes weekly CD’s of sermons and mails them to shut ins

Caterer/Commercial Kitchen Manager
Knox Presbyterian Church is seeking an entrepreneur chef to manage the church’s kitchen in exchange for access to the kitchen for his/her own business activities. This is an ideal situation for a small caterer or personal chef business.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Cater 12 to 15 meals throughout the year for church functions:
– Plan menus
– Write recipes
– Shop for ingredients and/or arrange deliveries of food orders
– Prepare and serve buffet meals to groups of 40 to 200
– Package leftovers
– Wash dishes, pots and pans
– Clean the kitchen

● Maintain professional relationship with church staff

● Manage cleaning and maintenance schedule:
– Replenishing supplies of soap, sanitizer and towels
– Scheduling grease trap cleaning
– Meeting with health department for regular inspections

● Clean and straighten the kitchen once a week; disposing of leftovers, laundering towels

Choir Director/Pianist
Providence Presbyterian Church, a historic 50 member church in Bright, Indiana (25 miles west of downtown Cincinnati), is seeking a pianist for Sunday Worship. Church Administrator

Part-Time  Position Description

Purpose
The purpose of the part-time Church Administrator is to supervise and facilitate the day-to-day administrative operations of the congregation. The position requires professionalism and confidentiality as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

Scope
Under the supervision of the Personnel Committee and the Head-of-Staff and the Associate Pastor, the Church Administrator is broadly responsible for:
• Supporting the vision, mission, ministry, and core values of the church
• Ensuring timely, efficient, and cost effective delivery of all administrative services and developing and maintaining a productive and supportive working relationship between church staff and the ministers and congregation.
• Maintaining the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, insurance, employee payroll, employee benefits, and liaising with independent auditors
• Maintaining files of official church records and documents
• Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the PCW property

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management
In partnership with the Pastor(s), the chairperson of Finance Committee, Session, and the Chair of the Stewardship Committee the Church Administrator is responsible for:
• Financial administrative support to the Church Treasurer
• Accurately updating and keeping the general ledger using financial software
• Collating and preparing accounts payable.
• Preparing monthly financial reports for the Staff, Session, Treasurer, and Stewardship Chair
• Providing information requested about specific committee and ministry spending to Committee Chairs on a regular basis
• Facilitating the processing of the monthly payroll for church staff and preschool program.
• Collecting monthly rentals as well as fees for functions, weddings, and funerals.
• Prepares annual budget in the Fall of each year in coordination with the Finance Committee, Ministry Teams, and Session
• Assures all tax reports are promptly paid and timely filed.

Property Management
In partnership with the Pastor and the Buildings & Grounds Committee Chair the Church Administrator is responsible for:
• Drawing up building-use contracts and tenant leases
• Liaising with tenants and other building users
• Coordinating maintenance and repairs in the facility, both short-term and long-term
• Supervision of and liaising with custodial and maintenance staff.
• Scheduling and liaising with Sunday morning youth attendants.
• Inventory and ordering of supplies
• Scheduling groups and rooms and maintenance of church calendar for building usage

The Church Administrator may also be responsible for other duties, as assigned by the Pastor and Session.

Job Requirements
• To be considered for this position, a candidate should be a person of a dedicated Christian faith, demonstrate a track record of strong leadership, a dedication to serving others, and a commitment to working both alone and as part of a team to accomplish goals and objectives. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to empathize, and superior oral and written skills are desired.
• The successful candidate will be adept at multi-tasking. Some management experience in a volunteer-driven organization will be considered as a major plus.
• Accuracy and precision are important aspects of this job. The candidate must have some financial background including current knowledge of accounting practices and bookkeeping systems as well as familiarity with desktop publishing.
• Computer skills should be current and the candidate should have a basic understanding of desktop maintenance procedures, computer networks, database management, and printer and copier maintenance.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), financial accounting software, Email, the Internet, as well as prior administrative experience are essential.
• All candidates are required to undergo a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Crosspoint Director
Northminster Presbyterian Church
Purpose: The Crosspoint Director collaborates with other Northminster staff and volunteers to create engaging, experiential, Christ-centered worship that glorifies God and invites a diverse community into the life-changing adventure of following Jesus.

Description: The Crosspoint Director (CD) provides creative leadership in a “behind the scenes” role for weekly Crosspoint worship and other special services. The CD has a strong working knowledge of scripture and an eagerness to deliver “the Word of the Lord” in a variety of artistic and experiential styles and media. The CD utilizes excellent administrative and relational skills to recruit, encourage, lead, organize, and deploy volunteers and staff for worship. The CD works with a wide range of persons of different ages, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and talent levels, weaving their efforts into a cohesive, dynamic worship experience. The CD displays an authentic, prayerful expectation that Crosspoint worship will be inspired and blessed by the Spirit of God.

Type of employment: part-time, paid. (This position can be a full-time position when combined with the part-time Crosspoint Music Leader if one person fits both positions).

Compensation: $15,000 to $22,000 a year, depending on qualifications and hours.

Hours: 17-22 hours per week, negotiable

Accountability: To the Session, through the Associate Pastor for Worship, Worship & Music Team

Responsibilities:
1. Provide overall vision and creative ideas for Crosspoint worship, in conjunction with the Crosspoint Worship & Music Leader, pastoral staff, and Crosspoint team.
2. Plan, coordinate, implement, and attend two Crosspoint worship services each Sunday.
3. Prepare the service scripts and technical scripts to be used by other leaders and volunteers
4. Recruit and develop volunteers as needed for set design, drama, communion, and other artistic or special elements of Crosspoint worship.
5. Deliver all necessary information to the Communications Coordinator for bulletin preparation.
6. Conduct weekly Crosspoint planning and evaluation meetings.
7. Supervise Crosspoint staff and volunteers.
8. Attend weekly staff meetings and retreats when possible.
9. Work with the Volunteer Captain to recruit and train volunteers for greeting, ushering, prayer teams, food service, room preparation, clean-up, etc.
10. Work with the Technical Coordinator to: a) Provide for the preparation of graphics and texts for worship slides; b) Recruit and develop volunteers to cover the audio/visual and lighting responsibilities; c) Assure the maintenance of all technical equipment: computers, screens, sound board, lighting, cameras, etc.
11. Provide for the maintenance of equipment, the stage area, Crosspoint supplies, storage space, and the control booth.
12. Develop and oversee the annual budget for Crosspoint.
13. Assist with additional worship services (e.g. funerals, weddings, seasonal, etc.) when requested by the pastoral.

5. Provide the Crosspoint Director with weekly song lyrics and a roster of musicians for the bulletin, preferably 1-2 weeks in advance.
6. Provide for the maintenance of band instruments, equipment, and the stage area.
7. Develop and oversee the Crosspoint music budget in conjunction with the Crosspoint Director.
8. Lead music (when schedule permits) for special occasions such as funerals, weddings, and other events at the request of the pastoral staff and/or Crosspoint Director.

Evaluation: Annually by Staff Development Team, including self-review, Crosspoint Director, pastoral staff, and others requested for input.

Interim Pastor
The Community of Faith Presbyterian Church (COF) is seeking an Interim Pastor.

COF is located at the junction of Covington and Ft. Wright, KY, at 1400 Highlands Ave. Our congregation of about 100 is mostly elderly members with a few younger couples and their toddlers. Approximately 30 to 50 attend regularly.

Adult ministries include Sunday School and Bible Studies. Unfortunately we have no children in Sunday School. Our mission outreach includes devotional time at an afterschool program in Ludlow, KY. The afterschool program (CLASP) was founded by COF after the merger of the Ludlow and Covington Presbyterian Churches in 2000. Our mission in Nicaragua has been a very active and vital part of our outreach for over ten years.

Our paid staff consists of an administrative assistant and a music director. The Chin Calvary Baptist Church (Burmese immigrants) uses our church facilities for worship on Sundays starting at 2 PM. More information about COF can been seen on the website: http://www.cofnky.org/

Office Manager/Administrative Assistant (Ministry Assistant)

PURPOSE: To provide secretarial and administrative services for the needs of the congregation, the Pastor and other professional church staff as a ministry to Jesus Christ.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Office Manager/Administrative Assistant is accountable to the Pastor for Administration.

Create (type) typical documents such as worship bulletins, posters, brochures, letters, and monthly newsletter. Oversee production and distribution by the office assistant and volunteers. Post to webmaster.

Print and assemble training of officer and new member manuals/materials and the yearly reports of the congregation.

Update, print and assemble the annual phone directory.

Create and review general church emails.

Maintain the church calendar and assist with room use scheduling. Forward outside requests to Business Manager or other staff members.

Create/complete certificates for baptisms, weddings, ordinations, etc.

Responsible for ordering office supplies for staff.

Answer the phone and electronically open main door.

Train and supervise the office volunteers and organize office schedule with a 10 hour per week assistant.

EVALUATION:
Performance reviews will be conducted annually by the Pastor of Administration and the Personnel Committee Liaison. The Personnel Committee assigns a liaison to each staff member.

Parish Secretary

Resident Caretaker
Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church is seeking a Resident Caretaker
The MAPC Resident Caretaker will provide daily supervision and routine maintenance of the building and grounds. Additionally, the Resident Caretaker will supervise the opening and closing of the building for Sunday services, business hours for MAPC and Space Sharers, committee meetings and special events.
Compensation is based upon a 15 hour work week. Compensation comes in the form of free living expenses in the church apartment and a modest monthly stipend.

Major Responsibilities:
• Routine maintenance of the interior building and grounds. [About 5 hours/week]
  o Changing light bulbs, small repairs, water interior plants routinely, set-up and return to locked closet any electronic equipment used for meetings. Work closely with Office Administrator to schedule service calls. Attend monthly Building & Grounds Committee meeting.
o Lawn mowing, snow removal, garden watering and weeding
• Opening and closing the building daily. [About 10 hours/week]
  o Security at night: nightly rounds and availability should the security company call regarding an alarm or security breach
o Security during Sunday services.
